EIT KIC Culture & Creativity

EU funding for art and cultural heritage

With the EIT KIC Culture & Creativity (KIC-ICE) initiative, the EU is creating a new platform for the promotion of culture, creativity and the preservation of cultural heritage in times of climate change. EU funding in the triple-digit millions will be available for this purpose in the coming years. KIC-ICE is coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC.

One of the driving forces behind the initiative is ISC employee Dr. Johanna Leissner, co-founder of the Cultural Heritage Research Alliance in Germany. Fraunhofer ISC has been active in the field of cultural heritage for many years. Back in 2008, the institute joined forces with the Main-Tauber district to found the International Center for Cultural Heritage Protection and Conservation Research IZKK at the Bronnbach Monastery, headed by Ms. Sabrina Rota.

In addition to preserving cultural heritage, the KIC-ICE will also offer opportunities for cultural professionals in the region. Fraunhofer ISC therefore cordially invites you to a partner event in Würzburg. We would be delighted if you would join us in celebrating this success for cultural creators and preservationists.
