CellME 2022

Empowering breakthroughs for life

At the CellME Forum, you can meet providers of advanced solutions for cell manufacturing technologies, gene- and cell-based therapies, and regenerative medicine, share expertise, and see research facilities in operation.
In addition to an exhibition, sessions will be held for engineers and researchers alike, highlighting the latest advances and the technical and practical factors of emerging trends.

Automated manufacturing of 3D In Vitro test systems

Dr. Marco Metzger from the Translational Center for Regenerative Therapies (TLC-RT) at Fraunhofer ISC will present the research team's extensive experience regarding the design, development and validation of human 3D tissue models for applications in basic and preclinical research.
The models are based on human primary cells, 3D organoid cultures or different stem cell types such as human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) grown on suitable bioscaffolds. Restoration of innate physiological conditions is achieved by tissue cultures in bioreactor platforms. In addition, the TLC-RT is developing new technologies such as non-invasive assessment methods or automated tissue production to improve tissue quality and availability.
Dr. Marco Metzger will demonstrate two leading applications for automated manufacturing on site: human 3D skin models and organoids.
